Rosie & Will ♥

Sigh…I really love my job, especially on days like yesterday. Thanks Rosie & Will for making me part of your utterly gorgeous wedding day. It was such a beautiful day and I can’t wait to share more of your images and details. Also a big thank you to Kate Grewal my Assistant for being so fantastic (as usual).  Greta x

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue…

Anastasia & Nate thank you so much for choosing Vela Images to photograph your beautiful wedding! I feel like I have been through quite a bit with Anastasia and Nate compared to most clients…there was the first  night we meet when I am very embarrassed to say I somehow forgot that they were coming for a meeting!!! I work from an office at home and It just so happened to be hair wash night for my two and three year old, so they were confronted first with squeals of horror – my children consider hair washing a form of torture.  Then squeals of glee when the torture turns to a full head and body blow dry which they adore. Poor Anastasia and Nate were standing on the doorstep through all of this and I couldn’t hear them knocking through all the racket inside. When I finally did come to the door with my clothes covered in water accompanied by two naked and over excited toddlers Anastasia and Nate didn’t bat an eyelid. Then we had a rather unforgettable incident when we were doing their love shoot. I won’t go into all the details but lets just say I have never had a shoot disrupted by “indecent exposure” before. Just to clarify the indecent exposure had nothing to do with Anastasia & Nate (or myself), it was compliments of a rather merry local Wynyard Quarter resident. Again Anastasia & Nate took it all in their stride. They really are two of the most super cool, relaxed people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Then of course the biggest event I got to share with them was their wedding day which was just so damn lovely and full of so many people just like them who really know how to celebrate love and life. Anastasia & Nate you are a couple so very much in love its almost contagious, I just know you are going to have a wonderful life together full of adventure and fun. Thank you for choosing Vela Images to shoot your wedding. We loved meeting you and being there on your special day. Also a special thank you to Kate Grewal for doing such a great job of assisting/second shooting with me. Greta xxx

Farewell 2011…

So I am a little late with my farewell 2011 post but better late than never…If 2011 was to flash quickly before my eyes it might look a little bit like this. I got to meet and work with tons of fantastic new people who I can now call friends as well as clients and business partners, it was a big year for learning about business, about photography and all sorts of other things along the way. Thanks to everyone who I have worked with, played with, learned from and of course photographed. I wish I could add you all to the collage but I would be up all night!

I am so excited about all the new weddings and projects coming up in 2012, its going to be a big year with lots of VERY exciting things happening both at work and at home. I am a little behind with my blog posting for 2012 but stay tuned because already in the queue from 2012 are two gorgeous weddings, some pretty portraits and even some late runners from 2011.
